The Poppy Purse Crochet Pattern is suitable for advanced beginners who know their chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and who have made at least a few projects that work in the round, and are familiar with reading patterns. The fancier stitches like the popcorn stitch, as well as how to change colours or do an invisible join, are explained in the stitch guide.
The Poppy Purse Crochet Pattern contains not one but 5 patterns for variations on the Poppy Purse. There is the Poppy Bucket, which is a purse with a circular base. There is the Poppy Purse with reversed colour order, or the much bigger Poppy Tote, which is massively three-dimensional with rows upon rows of popcorn stitches. There are altogether 5 patterns, so that you can recreate all the purses featured in the listing photos. But more importantly, I explain and show you how a crochet purse is constructed, and how to vary the length and width of the purse base, and how to make the Poppy purse in one colour, or in multiple colours.
Once you have made one of the purses, you will be able to grasp how to make a crocheted purse, and you are good to go off on your own! Order yourself some recycled textile shoelace yarn in various colours, and you will be able to gift all the gals in your life with a handmade purse come gifting season :)
What you will need: recycled textile shoelace yarn, or recycled textile yarn. Notions you will need are a large-eyed tapestry needle, stitch markers, and D-rings or D-ring carabiner clasps. If you wish to sew a lining, you need to prepare fabric and a zip.
