This DIY crochet pattern shows you how to use a mix of scrap super bulky jersey yarn to make a fun tote.
SKILL LEVEL: This DIY crochet pattern is suitable for advanced beginners. If you know how to crochet a beanie, and know how to crochet in the round, and have read a pattern, then this pattern is easy enough for you. You only need the single crochet, the double crochet, and the front post double crochet, in order to make this summer tote.
YARN and HOOK: I would recommend using recycled textile yarn, and a hook between 9mm to 10mm. Be prepared to make a few swatches to see which hook size produces a fabric that is stiff enough.
MATERIALS: You would also need stitch markers, and a needle with an eye large enough for jersey yarn. Otherwise, a 5mm hook would also work.
The Izzy Tote Crochet Pattern:
- is 5 pages long
- includes a variation for a larger tote with less texture.
- is written in English, and uses US American crochet terminology
